Michael stayed only about 3 years with his grandparents before they thought he was too much to handle and raise, so Michael’s grandparents decided to put him up for adoption.

But Michael had no clue what was going on behind his back, his grandparents had never even told him about their idea. Michael’s grandparents listed to Michael’s stories about his day, but were very quiet and didn’t respond very often on the trip to the social services building. Once Michael’s grandparents took the turn onto the road that Michael knew led to the social services building, Michael began to cry and panic, begging his grandparents not to do this.

His grandparents had already made up their minds, even though they were sad about their choice, but they knew it was better for Michael this way. They parked the car, gathering Michael and taking him into the uilding, as they sat in the lobby waiting to be addressed by one of the social workers, Michael sat quietly crying in his grandma’s arms. The social worker had finally come out to the lobby and called Michael and his grandparents back to her office, the social worker sat Michael in a kid waiting room with toys and a movie going on and took his grandparents into her office to discuss the options of the situation.

Michael had a sister that he was aware of but didn’t know what happened to her after his mother abandoned him with his grandparents. Michael had just started to get comfortable watching The Lion King when the ocial worker walked in with another man by her sire. They sat down and started explaining to Michael what his options were. The lady explained to Michael that they had found the family that had adopted his sister and explained that Michael could go live with that family and see how he likes it or he could go live with a foster family that would eventually adopt him.

Michael chose to go live with his sister’s family and was really excited to see his sister that he hadn’t seen in years, after Michael made his choice the social worker brought his grandparents in to say their goodbyes. Michael sat and cried with his grandmother for a long period of time before he said goodbye and was taken by the social worker and the man she had with her back to her office. The lady made some calls and in under 15 minutes Michael was in the back of a black cruiser with a bag of starburst jelly beans on his way to his new family.

Michael was quiet the whole ride while eating his jelly beans, because he thought he would never get to see his grandparents again, but the terms discussed in the social worker’s office explained how his grandparents could see him on his birthdays and holidays. It as about a 45 minute drive until Michael was in a place he didn’t recognize as normal, he felt uncomfortable, for he had never been out in the country, which was where his new family lived. The social worker pulled the car onto the gravel 2 mile driveway to the house, Michael looked out of his window in awe, wondering what his new family would be like.

Michael was really excited to see his sister that he hadn’t seen in years, the driveway broke into a fork and the social worker turned the car right and the house of his new family was right in front of the car. No one was outside when Michael and the social workers ad pulled up the house, there wasn’t even any dogs outside, but there were some horses in the front yard. Then all of a sudden the family piled outside, there were at least a total of 8 people that came out of the front door in a rush to see Michael, for they were excited to see him.

Michael slowly got out of the car with his bag of starburst jelly beans close to him as he recognized his sister Sarah. He immediately ran over to Sarah giving her a hug and sat and hugged her for the longest time admiring her presence, for he only felt comfortable around Sarah for the moment, but that would all change very soon. Michael had been staying with the new family and decided that he wanted to stay and live with the family, at least that’s what he was telling the social worker every time she came to do monthly check ups. Michael’s new family adopted him only a year after he had been living with them.

In Michael’s new family, he had one brother, and four sisters, which he was very happy to live with, let’s just say he was never bored around the house. Michael and his brother had a close relationship while his brother was living down at the family’s place, later on Michael’s brother got his own house down on the family place. Michael ould always hang out with his older brother, normally doing outdoor activities or just sitting down at his house playing video games, Michael’s brother always had a lot of friends over that Michael really enjoyed.

Another year had gone by now and it was in the summer of 2010. Michael woke up to a morning in June to his mom and all his sister’s crying, Michael was in a delirious state of mind since he had just woke up. Michael walked out into the iving room of his house, for his room was right beside it, rubbing his eyes and he saw a police officer standing in the doorway of the house.

Michael’s mother was crying while holding his sister in her arms, they were both crying uncontrollably, Michael thought his brother did something bad, which was why he was confused on why everyone was crying. The police officer explained to Michael’s mother that he couldn’t handle all the kids in the living room crying and asked her to make them go into the backroom. Michael’s sister explained to him that their dad had been found dead in a car accident on the ighway, the reason he was found is because he worked a late job and usually came home late at night.

This sent Michael into shock, he didn’t talk to anyone or eat or drink anything for a week straight. Michael just sat alone in his dark room, not always crying, but just thinking about his dad. Michael and his dad were very close, Michael’s dad always kept Michael on a straighter path towards success and respect. Michael didn’t know what he was going to do without his dad, he felt lost, he didn’t want to get out of bed to do anything. Michael was only 10 years old when he lost his dad, yet he showed signs of major epression.

Michael didn’t show interest in anything over the next few years, many people thought he would never come out of this so called ‘slump’ of depression. When Michael went back to school, the teachers could notice a change in him, and would usually confront him about the situation. Michael would just brush it off and say he was fine, he didn’t realized that depression had changed him emotionally. He just felt more comfortable keeping to himself, rather than talking to a councillor. He lost interest in his friends, he would laugh with them, but then would return to his face which showed an xpression of being lost.

Michael would just stare off into the distance, or just stare at a wall while sitting in class. Michael would be thinking of his father, or just death in general. Everyone around Michael never thought he would change, Michael himself didn’t believe he could forget about his father and leave the depression behind. only about 3 years with his grandparents before they thought he was too much to handle and raise, so Michael’s grandparents decided to put him up for adoption.
