HIV or the human immunodeficiency virus was the primary cause of AIDS. By placing a copy of its DNA in man’s host cells, this virus replicates itself in the human body. This is also known as a retrovirus because of its property and ability. The WBCs (White Blood Cells) in which HIV exists are part of the human immune system.
HIV destroys WBCs and the human immune system is weakened. The deterioration of the immune system affects the capacity of an person to manage illness in time. A cut or a wound, for example, takes much longer to cure or blood to coagulate. The wound never heals in some situations.
