Given the fact that history has left so much behind, it is safe to say that istory has molded and impacted a lot of the ways we were raised at some point and possibly even our current beliefs and morals. Contrary to popular belief, the following world leaders have a significant background that leads them to have marked the most negative impact in history since the beginning Of the 20th century; Ronald Reagan, Osama bin Laden, and Adolf Hitler. Reagan (U.
S 1981-1989) had to be considered the worst president of the United States because he not only tripled the national debt, gave rise to unemployment, and attacked the middle class, he also ignored AIDS and unded terrorists. Osama bin Laden (worldwide, 1993-2001) was the millionaire guerrilla fighter who became the world’s most notorious terrorist. He was linked to the 1 993 bombing of the World Trade Centre in New York and a 1995 car bomb in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
And Bin Laden’s name was burned on to the world’s consciousness with the atrocity of September 1 1, 2001. (Daily Record News 201 1). Hitler (Germany, 1939-1945) was responsible for planning and carrying out genocide, waging unlawful war, planning and arranging for the unlawful killing of his opponents. Many people recognize Ronald Reagan’s name when they see it, but they don’t exactly know what he’s done or why he’s so famous besides the fact that he was an actor.
As mentioned earlier, Reagan was responsible for a high rate of unemployment and constantly attacked the middle class. As Reagan cut taxes for the wealthy, the government was left with less money to spend. When Reagan came into office the national debt was $900 billion, by the time he left the national debt had tripled to $2. 8 trillion. When Ronald Reagan came into office 1 981 , unemployment was at 7. 5%. After Reagan cut taxes for he wealthy, he began raising taxes on the middle and lower class.
Corporations started to ship more jobs out of the United States while hiring cheap foreign labor in order to make a bigger profit. While corporations made billions, Americans across the country lost their jobs. As 1982 came to a close, unemployment was nearly 11%. Unemployment began to drop as the years went on, but the jobs that were created were low paying and barely helped people make ends meet. The middle and lower class had their wages nearly frozen as the top earners saw dramatic increases in salary.
The Republican war on unions and the middle class has been heating up in States like Wisconsin and Ohio, but it has been going on for a long time. Unions are formed to give a united voice to the workers in an attempt to create fairness between the corporations and their employees.
