Donald Trump’s America: An Annotated Bibliography Editorial. “The ‘Mother of All Bombs’ Is No Solution to Isis, the Mother of All Problems. ” Independent (UK), 15 Apr. 2017. EBSCOhost. Web. 21 Apr. 2017. According to the editorial, “The Moab bomb was designed to do two things. Destroy a network of tunnels and caves used by Isis in Afghanistan. The other purpose was the warfare of sending a message. ” The bomb did its job. It sent a message to the people that America will not tolerate the killing of innocent men, women, and children.

President Donald Trump, by using the Moab bomb, kept his promise to the American people that he will keep America safe from terrorists. The opposition might claim that President Trump was only asking for trouble rather than preventing trouble. The editorial states, “The one thing we can be sure of is that no lasting solution to the problem of Isis is going to come simply through American bombs. ”

This is an adequate source because it is relevant to the topic of whether President Trump is helping or hurting the American people. Emery, Dan. “TRUMP: America’s New CEO?. National Provisioner, vol. 231, no. 1, Jan. 2017, p. 24. EBSCOhost. Web. 21 Apr. 2017. There have been many people against President Trump’s plan to deport illegal immigrants. However, he is looking at the world from a CEO’s point of view. Emery states, “If President trump selects good people and lets them do their jobs — supervising them much like a successful CEO does with his staff — then we could be up for four years of a very good business environment. ” Trump is only deporting criminal illegal immigrants and vetting the illegal immigrants that are not criminals.

Emery states, “That we need entry-level laborers, because we did not raise our children to flip burgers or to harvest the crops. ” Opponents of deporting illegal immigrants claim that Trump is deporting all immigrants. This source works perfectly because it provides facts and examples that Trump working as a CEO will help the food industry and illegal immigrants. This viewpoint covers exactly what Trump stands for, improving America. Frank, Mary Kate and Patricia Smith. “WALLED OFF. (Cover Story). ” New York Times Upfront, vol. 149, no. 11, 03 Apr. 2017, p. 6. EBSCOhost. Web. 21 Apr. 2017.

Mary Kate Frank wrote this article in order to provide the reader with the side of the argument against the wall. Trump wants a wall around Mexico and this campaign promise is being kept. However, President Trump and the Mexican President, Pena Nieto, are having discussions about the potential benefits of a wall. “Trump repeatedly has characterized Mexico as a source of undocumented immigrants, drugs, and unfair trade practices that hurt the U. S. economy” (Frank 7). In this article, comparisons are made between the two economies.

Frank states, “Severing the U. S. -Mexico relationship would be devastating to both the U. S. and Mexico, to both our economies because of the number of jobs that depend on that relationship. ” This source is very helpful. It provides both President Trump and President Nieto’s point-of-view of building the wall. The article includes examples, maps, pictures, and a timeline to help explain each side of the argument. Smith, Giles. “Trump: The Collected Works. ” New Statesman, vol. 146, no. 5357, 10 Mar. 2017, pp. 40-43. EBSCOhost. Web. 21 Apr. 2017.

It is hard to believe that President Trump is an author of seventeen books. Smith’s article focuses on the fact that Trump’s books are not really written by him, but are ghosted. He also implies that Trump is running the country like pages from his books. “Perhaps the most germane question these books prompt is not whether America can be run like a company, but whether it can be run the way Trump runs a company: impulsively, on the fly, in the absence of consistent belief or principles ad from the center of a tight circle of cohorts that never seem to know what is coming next” (Smith).

According to Smith, “The fact is, there is no business lesson to be extracted from the career of Donald Trump even if he had the will or the skill to impart it, which he doesn’t. ” This source is good because it shows another opposing viewpoint. The viewpoint is a little one-sided. Smith is very critical of Trump and his books. Smith implies that Trump has written more books than he has read. Smith, Patricia. “How Trump Could Change America. ” Junior Scholastic, vol. 119, no. 7, 09 Jan. 2017, p. 8. EBSCOhost. Web. 21 Apr. 2017. President Donald Trump has several things on his agenda.

However, he focuses mainly on six items: immigration, Supreme Court, communication, foreign policy, environment, and the economy. Trump vows to make America great again. According to Smith, “Trump’s policies and personality could reshape the nation. ” Trump’s immigration promise is to deport criminal illegal immigrants and to build a wall around the Mexican border. President Trump’s pick for the Supreme Court caused a lot of disturbance in Congress. Nevertheless, his choice, Neil Gorsuch, was sworn in. President Trump is not a fan of the mainstream media.

He prefers to do is communicating via Twitter. As far his foreign policy, Trump vows to put America first. He plans to defeat Isis. Trump’s fifth item is the environment. Trump claims that there is nothing wrong with the climate. “Scientists warn that if Trump follows through on his campaign promises, there may be no way to avoid the most devastating effects of global warming” (Smith 11). The economy is a big concern for all Americans. Trump proposes to fix bad trade deals with tariffs. The majority of opposition comes from Democrats.

This source is very helpful because it gives the reader information that they can use to form their own opinion on President Trump’s policies. This article presents the information in the form of pictures, maps, and a political cartoon. Trump, Donald. “America First. ” [“Vital Speeches of the Day”]. Vital Speeches of the Day, vol. 83, no. 3, Mar. 2017, pp. 66-67. EBSCOhost. Web. 21 Apr. 2017. President Donald Trump vows to put America first. In his inaugural address Trump states, “Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for many, many years to come.

He is a business man who looks out for his country and his people. Donald Trump vows to protect the country by defending its borders and not foreign borders. Trump has consistently put God and country first. Trump wants people to buy American made products and give priority to hiring American workers first. Trump is against radical Islamic terrorism and plans to destroy it.

Trump also talks about how the country will be protected by our military and law enforcement. “Together, we will make America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And yes, together we will make America great again. Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America. Thank you. God bless America” (Trump 67). This is an excellent source because it is a historical document. It is President Trump’s own words.
