12 Angry Men is a 1957 American court-room drama adapted by Reginald Rose from the same-name teleplay. This film, written by Rose and co-produced by Sidney Lumet, tells the story of a jury of twelve people who find the defendant’s guilt or acquittal on the basis of reasonable doubt causing jurors to question their morality and values.
In the United States, the decision must be binding in most criminal cases by the jury. The film is noteworthy for its near-exclusive use of one set: just three minutes from the jury room take place over 96 minutes.
