The Modern Hamlet Analysis

The Modern ntinued to fall as it had for the past week. Hayden was trying to figure out what had happen in the past six months. The lost of his father, the gain of a stepfather, it all puzzled him. How can all of this happen in such short amount of time? She didnt even wait a month after my fathers death to get married, to his brother at that. Hayden stared out the widow at the rain from his desk. A sight breeze blew past him, Hayden turned around to see where it came from. He was faced with his father. Hayden was speechless. The spirit gently touched his left shoulder then spoke. Hayden, my death was not an accident.

Your uncle set up the plane crash, so he could have it all. But what can I do? Hayden managed to mutter. I need you to stop Claude from ruining anymore lives, including yours. Before Hayden reacted, the room was empty again. Suddenly a knocking came from his oak door. Hayden stood up, walked across the room to the door and opened it. It was Harry, Haydens best friend. He told Harry everything that just happened. They decided that taking Claudes life would be the best plan. But, Lorne, I dunno if Hayden still wants to be with me. He says he cares for me, but he just doesnt show his affection.

Olivia stated as she looked into her mirror and slowly brushed her silky blonde hair. Lorne slowly walked up to Olivia, gently place his right hand on her left shoulder, and then said, Livie, I have nothing against Hayden Christiansen, but I just dunno if hes the right person for you. Why is that? Olivia was puzzled. I get a bad vibe from him. Well, last week, I was walking down the hall and I saw Hayden, so, naturally I stopped and said hi. But he just kept on walking. He completely ignored me. Olivia said with an upset tone. I just wanted to cry. I just dont know about him.

Lorne looked at his watch, then continued. I have to go. Olivia turned, looked at Lorne, and questioned. Youre leaving already? But you just came home last night. I know, Im sorry. But this time I wont be got as long this time. Promise? Promise! Olivia sighed then said, Okay. But remember if he makes you cry, hes just not worth it. Alright. Olivia replied then kissed Lorne on his pale lips. Good-bye my dearest Olivia. I love you. Have a safe trip. I love you too. Olivia smiled. Lorne smiled back to Olivia and left her lavender room. Hayden paced back and forth in the small room, while Harry just watched him.

They had no ideas on how they were going to kill Claude but they knew it had to be done. What about poison? Harry questioned looking at Hayden with anxious eyes. How are we gonna get it? Hayden replied as he stopped to look at Harry. I dunno. Plus we couldnt use just anything like rat poisoning because then people will know Claude was murdered. Hayden paused, We have to figure out a way to make it look like an accident. A silence fell upon the room once again. Then Harrys cell phone rang. The name on the phone read Smith, Marc. Yes? Harry questioned after he opened his phone. Give us about ten minutes.

As Harry talked to Marc, Hayden just came up with a brilliant plan to stop Claude. It was fool proof. Yea. Later. Harry hung up his phone. Were gonna meet Marc, Frank, and Bryan in about ten minutes at Charlies. Is that cool with you? Yeas. I just got the prefect plan to stop Claude but were gonna need Bryan, Marc and Franks help. Hayden said as he stood up and put on his jacket. Okay. Whats the plan? Ill tell you on the way to Charlies. As Harry and Hayden drove down the water-covered road, Haydens cell phone rang. He didnt bother to see who it was. Christiansen. Hayden, its Olivia. Olivia said in a timid voice. Hey sweetie.

Whats going on? Haydens tone did not change. I need to take to you. I cant talk right now. Can I stop by tonight? Yea. What time? About seven? Okay. Bye, I love you. Buh-bye. Hayden hung up. Charlies was a small grill that was on the bad end of town. All five of them ordered burgers and impatiently waited for it to come out. You all are good friends of mine, arent you? Hayden questioned Bryan, Frank and Marc. Of course. Why do you even ask? Frank replied. Because I am about to trust you with some important information and I need to know where our friendship is. Hayden stated. What? Do you want us to help you kill a man?

Marc questioned sarcastically. Some thing like that. Marc, Bryan and Frank all looked wide-eyed as Hayden explain the clever plan. Tomorrow night Claude and Gerry were to go to a dinner in his honor. While they are in the dinner, Marc and Frank were to cut the brake line. After the dinner is over, Claude will want to drive home alone, so Gerry will have to ride with one of her friends, like she does every time. Claude will take the long way home, which he thinks no one knows about. Bryan and Hayden would follow Claude, while managing to stay unnoticed, and try to make Claude run off the road making it look like an accident.

At home, Gerry would be waiting up for Claude and at exactly three oclock in the morning; she will receive a phone call for the police, telling her that her husband of only five months, had been killed in an automobile accident. At seven oclock, Olivia heard a knock at the front door, she assumed that it was Hayden, and she was right. She was scared, excited, and upset all at the same time. Olivia greeted Hayden with a hug and a kiss. Then she led him up to her room, so they could talk alone. What did you need to talk to me about? Hayden asked as he shut her door. Hayden, do you still care for like you did a year ago?

Olivia questioned, as she looked into his green eyes. Of course I do, Olivia. Hayden replied. Why do you ask? Because for the past five months you have been different toward me. I mean, yea I know you lost your father and you two were really close but I can relate. You know I lost my mother when I was only fourteen. So I know what it feels like Hayden. Olivia slowly walked toward him. It has nothing to do with you or my fathers death. I just have been having problems with my mother and stepfather. And you cant talk to me about it? Olivia was upset. No, I cant. Olivias jaw dropped. Then she asked, You cant trust me?

I confide in you all the time, why cant you do to same? Its not that easy Olivia. Well youre not either. Olivia opened her door. Just go. I cant deal with you right now. Hayden did as he was told. He left Olivias house. He went home to rest because he had a long day ahead of him. Christiansens residence. This is Gerry. Gerry answered the phone after the third ring. Mrs. Christiansen? A mysterious voice replied. Yes? This is Officer Larsen. Your husband Claude Christiansen has been in a terrible automobile accident. Is he okay? Gerry questioned stocked. Maam, would you be able to come down the police station? Is my husband okay? She shouted.

Im sorry Mrs. Christiansen, he did not survive. When Hayden woke up, it was eleven in the morning. The house was silent. But as he walked down the stairs to the kitchen, he heard muffled crying. Hayden stooped at the bottom of the steps and he saw his mother sit with her head down on table, sobbing. She looked up and managed to say, Claude was killed in a car wreck this morning. Im sorry, Mom. Hayden said as he walked over to Gerry. He helped her up then said, Here, why dont you go up to bed and Ill bring you some tea? Okay. Gerry replied as she walked toward the stairs. Hayden stood by the table until he heard Gerrys bedroom door shut.

Then he walked into Claudes office and got Claudes handgun from the top desk drawer. Then he got a single bullet from the bottom drawer. After he loaded the gun, Hayden walked upstairs, making sure not to make a sound. He gingerly opened the door to reveal his mother lying on the bed face down. Hayden walked up to the side of the bed. He placed his hand on his mothers shoulder then said, Mom. As she turned to look at Hayden, he shot Gerry in the left temple. Then he wipe the gun with his shirt and placed it in Gerrys left hand. After Hayden called 911 to report a suicide, he called Olivia. The phone rang once then she answered it. Hello?
