An unbalanced force brings upon a challenge to effectively develop our Soldiers. It not only impedes our forces, but in turn it decreases our effectiveness and capability to employ when and where the nation needs forces and succeeding in the mission. We have learned over the many years through the first outbreaks of war and conflict how the lack of Senior leadership presence forced junior Soldiers to fight the war with no experience and expertise. As the war evolved, the Army logically adapted to a strategy of combat where all Soldiers became versatile. The balance of leadership also affects the balance of the Army’s culture, climate and its institutional practices. How well they are aligned effects the influences of today’s Army Soldiers and their commitment, fulfillment and welfare. In addition, we must understand and advise our commands of what is being distributed throughout the Army channels and the effects of change within our organization. Our role as HR Sergeants is to assist in the implementation of such changes to better support the unit and its Soldiers.
