Essay On Animal Testing On Animals

According to PETA, Each year, more than 100 million animals… are killed in U. S. laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug, food, and cosmetics testing. scientists do animal testing so they can make sure that it works so that way they will not harm the person that they are using the product on or what ever they are going to do on the patient. Even though i think that it is not right to do that to the animals they should not give the patient something that may hurt them in any way.

Humans do not have the right to right to do medical research on animals because animals can die and it causes animals to be in pain. Each year, more than 100 million animals… are killed in laboratories for biology lessons, medical training, curiosity-driven experimentation, and chemical, drug , food, and cosmetics testing. It all started when The famous Greek doctor Galen (AD129-200) studied animals. William Harvey used animals 400 years ago to discover how blood circulated in the body. The ‘modern’ era of animal research started about 150 years ago with the rise of physiology as a science.

The term “animal testing” refers to procedures performed on living animals for purposes of research into basic biology and diseases, assessing the effectiveness of new medicinal products, and testing the human health and/or environmental safety of consumer and industry products such as cosmetics, household cleaners, food additives, pharmaceuticals and industrial/agro-chemicals. All procedures, even those classified as “mild,” have the potential to cause the animals physical as well as psychological distress and suffering.

Often the procedures can cause a great deal of suffering. Most animals are killed at the end of an experiment, but some may be reused in subsequent experiments. Here is a selection of common animal procedures Right now millions of mice, rats rabbits, primates ,cats, dogs and other animals are locked in barren cages in laboratories across the country. They languish in pain, suffer from extreme frustration, ache with loneliness, and long to be free.

The harmful use of animals in experiments is not only cruel but also often ineffective. .. Instead, signs of these diseases are artificially induced in animals in laboratories in an attempt to mimic the human disease. Of the million experimental rocedures completed in 2014,149,917 were assessed as “severe” including “long term disease process where assisted with normal activities such as feeding and drinking are required or where significant deficits in behavior/activities persist”. Animal testing kills so many animals die each year so that way they can make the person that they are testing on feel better.

Reporters have repeatedly concluded that even the minimal standard set forth by the AWA are not being met by these facilities and institutionally based oversight bodies, called institutional animal care and use committees(IACUCS), have failed to carry out their mandate. The nimals are just sitting in the cages in pain because people are mean and heartless and don’t care about animals just so they can find a solution to whatever they want. They are sitting in so much pain from the things they did to them or are going to do to them. They need to stop. They are not test dummies, they are living things just like human beings.

The odds are not in their favor. As recently as 1978 more than 1,000 sumatran tigers lived on the sumatra. But thanks to appallingly high deforestation and rampant poaching their numbers have dropped to around 400. the once-lush green island has lost more than half its forest cover since 1985. The scientist say that even if the product could hurt the animal they will still do the experiment. They will still put it on the market. it could work on animals but not on humans, but if They want to take that chance of getting sued if the product does not work.

People report that the animal tests include forcing mice and rats to inhale toxic fumes, force-feeding dogs pesticides, and dripping corrosive chemicals into rabbits’ sensitive eyes. Even if a product harms animals, it can still be marketed to consumers. Conversely, just because a product was shown to be safe in animals oes not guarantee that it will be safe to use in humans. The united states spends about 16 billion dollars on animal testing annually at taxpayers expense and is subject to massive waste and mismanagement of taxpayers’ dollars.

Much of this cruelty is supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which allocates 40% of its annual research budget to animal experiments. By testing on the animals they are always in pain. Animals are also used in toxicity tests conducted as part of massive regulatory testing programs that are often funded by U. S. taxpayers’ money. The environmental protection Agency, the ood and drug Administration, the National Toxicology Program, and the U. S. Department of Agriculture are just a few of the government agencies that subject animals to crude, painful tests.

People acknowledges that Ohio State University: $1. 9 million for cruel heart attack experiments on dogs (never mind the fact that humans live sedentary lives and have a lifestyle of KFC and McDonalds grease). Some say that humans do not have the right to test on animals. They are deliberately electroshocked in pain studies, are mutilated in experimental surgeries, and have everything from cocaine to methamphetamine pumped into their bodies. They are given cancerous tumors and are injected with human cells in genetic-manipulation experiments. ook at it this way, they are putting things into the animal’s body to see if they have a way to treat it,but what if they don’t they are just going to leave the animal to die or whatever they want to the animal.

Rats had holes drilled into their skulls for invasive brain experiments. The Jackson Laboratory (JAX) deliberately breeds mice to be genetically predisposed to have debilitating ailments—including cancerous tumors, obesity, paralysis, a depressed immune system, and high levels of anxiety and depression. look at it this way, hey are just breeding the mice so they can drill holes in their heads.

I know that they are nasty and ugly but they don’t need to be killed by having holes put in their heads. Because mice and rats are not protected by the law, experimenters don’t even have to provide them with pain relief. While experimenters who use guinea pigs must provide them with pain relief and must at least show that they’ve looked for modern alternatives to the use of animals. another way to look at this is they only care about some animals pain instead of all animals pain. only dogs, cats and other animals like that can get pain relief when they are doing surgery.

Over a HALF MILLION dollars in STIMULUS money was spent on monkey business:”A Fox 4 investigation has one lawmaker taking action after we discovered the government is using more than a half-million dollars in stimulus money – money meant for saving and creating jobs – to buy monkeys for flu vaccine experiments. ” NOT a single job was created. Millions of animals die each year and are always in pain, humans do not have the right to test on animals. If this argument is not followed and If things continue we will not have animals left on the world or they could go extinct.
