People who are an art lover, they’ll love and enjoy this museum. I know it must not be one of the art museum that is on the list of many people “to do list” once they land in New York City because it is not as popular as the Metropolitan Museum of Art. However, it is a better choice than the Metropolitan Museum because it is a remarkable way to spend an afternoon in an art museum and to view a variety of recognizable artists. The Frick Museum is a jewel. You’re allowed to wander around the Frick’s home, which is decorated with stunning furniture and many of the finest art ever collected. Each room is embellished with the time period it was in, followed by the art, which hangs on the walls. The only sad part was that we weren’t allowed to take pictures of the place inside. It was a shame because it was a good way to capture the gorgeous home that was built with exquisite craftsmanship. However, everything else was astounding. The artwork was fantastic with many great pieces, from Vermeer to Turner to El Greco and many more. This museum was worth the visit. Once you look into the painting, immediately you see the young woman staring straight at you, as if she is saying, “Don’t tell anyone.” Overall, the observations I made of the painting is that this teenager is in shock as if someone had caught her doing something she wasn’t suppose to do. In those times, women were forced to do certain things such as house chores and take care of their husband and family. Women weren’t allowed to do anything outside of that “category.” So, for her to get music lesson, she seems as if she was having them secretly and someone caught her.
