I opened my mailbox on this warm and sunny day to find a letter for jury duty. As I walked back to my house I kept on thinking why it was me. I looked up to the sky to see the sun gone and clouds of rain instead. This is not going to be my day.
I entered my beautiful blue condo to see my son staring at my ominous face. “Daddy, what’s wrong?” Jamie said discreetly.
“Nothing is wrong, Jamie. Daddy just got a disappointing letter in the mail today,” I said.
“What’s it about, Daddy?” Jamie questioned with a look of happiness on his face when his mother entered through the door.
“It’s just about me having to attend jury duty. It’s an adult topic, Jamie,” I said with a little frustration in my voice.

Since I am ambidextrous, I decided to use my left hand. As I then looked back down to my signature I realized that I wrote it sloppily. As I walked back to the kitchen, I realized that attending jury duty is my personal duty as a citizen of Virginia. So as I handed my check to Emily, I looked at my watch and saw that it was almost four o’clock.
I fastly walked with volition up the steps and walked toward Emily’s and my bedroom. I looked into the closet and saw a nice black suit to wear. I put my suit on in time to brush my teeth and shave. By the time I finished, Emily was downstair in a lovely white dress and the babysitter was already with Jamie in the livingroom. “Hello Amelia! Don’t forget to put Jamie in bed by eight o’clock and we should be back by ten thirty at the most. Good night Jamie!” I quickly said before we left.
As we arrived at the party, I saw a lot of cars parked in the parking lot.
