Love always has it’s tragedies no matter what something always goes wrong. In the play, Romeo and Juliet, It happened to be a amazing and greatly structured play. Shakespeare brought something new to the table when he started making his play’s. Of course the ultimate favorite would be Romeo and Juliet. The love story that ends tragic for the couple but sets comic relief with the family burying the fued with their dead children. Romeo and Juliet are both very interesting characters but Romeo and his foil character happens to catch my attention more.

Romeo is the male protagonist in the play Romeo and Juliet. Romeo’s foil character would be Mercutio because he is his best friend and complete opposite. When romeo cares for someone he will be a loyal person to them. He is exactly that way to Mercutio. Mercutio was the same hence the reason he died. Mercutio is basically all about living in the moment. He is very different from Romeo. He is intelligent and not very emotional. Always wanting to party and have a good time. His focus isn’t about women it’s more about living life up while you can. You can tell he was a hot head and smart at the mouth. Example would be when he jumped in Tybalt and Romeo little argument at the party where Romeo and Juliet meet. He shows his true loyalty but sadly gives Tybalt motive for when they end up seeing each other again and fight. Romeo so wrapped in love is ultimately blinded by what he can do. He is just focused on beauty and finding that special someone. Romeo shows that to him love is worth dieing for, no matter how long you’ve known one another. He really stressing on negative things, very dramatic and good with his words. You can tell just by how fast he falls in love with juliet that he falls in love quick.
