The 1991 movie “BOYZ ‘N THE HOOD” is written and directed by John Singleton, and the director of photography is Charles Mills. The movie is edited by Bruce Cannon; music by Stanley Clarke,and produced by Steve Nicolaides. Columbia pictures released the hour and seven minutes movie. The main characters of the movie is Doughboy, Tre Styles, Ricky Baker, Furious Styles, Reva Styles, Brandi and Mrs.Baker. The movie is rated R and is considered a drama film, but also considered an action movie. The film setting is in los angeles south central neighborhood.
Tre is from a divorce set of parents he lives with his mom and faces adversity every day at school. Tre is constantly getting suspended from school for his behavior, his mom has had it with his behavior and is sending him to live with his father. Ricky and Tre was not apart of a gang but because they lived in that neighborhood they was not safe. They both had runnings into the opposite gang but Doughboy is there to save them with his friends that carry guns. The sets of gangs got into a dispute at a well known place to eat and the bloods thought it would be fun to shoot in the air and scare everybody off. Leaving the scene Tre and Ricky is stopped by the police one white cop and one black cop. The police officers starts to harass them because of the car they is driving, the officer says “there is no way this nice car is yours boy now who car is it”. Tre answers the officer and says this is my car sir. The black officer implies that Tre is not telling him the truth and he slams his head on the car hood.
