There are roughly 701,200 doctors in the United States. I could be one of them. They’re active when people are sick or injured and attempt to cure them. They bandage knees, give prescriptions, and mend injuries. They operate inside walls rather than outside ones because they are afraid of flying away during surgery (although this hasn’t happened for a long time). They deliver new infants and soothe older people who are sick or dying. And it was because I always wished to do something in medicine that prompted me to choose this career path. Medicine is something I enjoy doing, so why not pursue my MDS?

The room is unadorned, with just a few pictures hanging on the wall. I’m looking forward to working in an office. As a doctor, I hope my workplace will have a wide window with a view. Expecting to treat injuries and write prescriptions for sickness as well as diagnose illnesses as a doctor, I want to be a pillar of the community.

My parents are my role models. They have always helped people, whether it was through direct service or fundraising. From them, I learned the importance of giving back. When I was younger, I wanted to be a teacher like my mom. But as I got older, I realized that I wanted to do something that would have a more direct impact on people’s lives. That’s when I decided to become a doctor.

I’m drawn to the field of medicine because it is constantly evolving. There are new discoveries being made all the time, and new ways to treat illnesses and injuries. This means that there is always something new to learn, which is something that I thrive on.

My career as a physician will be full of surprises. One of the main reasons why I want to become a doctor is because I have always been interested in helping others. When I was younger, I would often pretend to be a doctor with my friends. We would use play stethoscopes and listen to each other’s heartbeats. Of course, we did not know what we were doing and would just make up diagnoses. Even then, I knew that I wanted to help people feel better. As I grew older, this desire to help others only grew stronger.

Another reason why I want to become a doctor is because of the intellectual challenge it presents. As a child, I was always interested in science and math. I loved learning about how the human body works and still do to this day. Becoming a doctor will allow me to continue learning about the human body and how to keep people healthy.

Lastly, I want to become a doctor because of the personal satisfaction it will bring me. Helping others is its own reward, but knowing that I have made a difference in someone’s life will be incredibly satisfying. This is something that I could not experience in any other profession.

Becoming a doctor is not an easy task, but it is one that I am willing to undertake. It will require years of dedication and hard work, but it will be worth it in the end. I am confident that I have what it takes to become a successful physician and hope to one day make a difference in the lives of others.
