Faith and Historicity and the civil right almost anything you learn about this daunting time for blacks in this time you will find that these people relied on their faith when they TLD believe In themselves. During the civil rights movement anytime blacks made a decision about anything and what their course of action would be they always met with the ministers and lay leaders of their local churches.

In doing this is how they decided to form an association known as The Montgomery Improvement Association they also chose a spokesman, at the time 26 year old minister Martin Luther King Jar. Two years later King and other local black ministers formed what still exist today The Southern Leadership Conference (CLC). The goal in forming this organization was to organize anti-segregation efforts in other communities in the south. King declared the goal of this movement was to, “save the soul of the nation. ” Historian Albert Reprobate observed, “The civil rights movement became a religious crusade. Brown Chapel Church was the meeting place for the march from Selma, AL to Montgomery, AL the state’s capital. On March 7, 1965, about 600 people gathered to peacefully march two-by-two led by Hoses Williams of CLC and John Lewis chairman of NC. They were met by state troopers, who were ordered by Governor of Alabama George Wallace. They were met at the Edmund Bridge and ordered to turn around. After one minute and five seconds of a two minute warning was announced the troops advanced, wielding clubs, bull whips, and tear gas. It was referred to as “Bloody Sunday,” because of the brutality hat was shown towards the people that day. 1965, was a powerful year the march was televised and was viewed all over the world the brutality that was used. It was an eye opening experience and an embarrassment to Americans that they showed such injustice towards blacks. Racial injustice was born In the US during the civil war. They accomplished freeing the slaves and giving the black man the right to vote. It was the emancipation that was taken by the southern states. Add citation here History. Obama seized the moment and delivered a profound speech titled,” A Perfect Union. ” Tracing the deep historical events of racial inequality and injustice in a very personal way he described his own experience. Add citation from PBS. Org In everything concerning blacks and what they do faith in God is the foundation of their every being. Even black that say they are unaffiliated have a belief in something. Blacks had to have faith what other explanation is there for the courage and strength displayed during such trying time.

To have to fight for every right that should have been given o all mankind and they done all of this peacefully. There is not a white man in history that be accounted for reconciling difference with an enemy or foe peacefully most can account for the wars that have happened since the dawn of time. Black churches are full of every emotion you experience in your day to day life the church is where you will find refuge in your time of sorrow. You will have humor and laughter right in the middle of service. You will see people healed and delivered. Tarrying for the Holy Ghost, praying as though their life depended on it.
